British Science Week - Story Collider Highlights

As part of British Science Week 2016, the British Science Association hosted the first Story Collider show in the UK.  New York based physicist and founder Ben Lillie introduced The Story Collider concept to London by bringing true, personal stories about science to life.

Red Banana filmed the eclectic event in full, held at The Round Chapel in Hackney, and created this highlights film to help promote the idea. We heard from a journalist/epidemiologist specialising in HIV/AIDS research about times things went wrong and right in her experiments, an award-winning environmental science author and broadcaster about her life-changing but terrifying adventures with African tribes, a conservationist who has been marooned on one of the world’s most remote islands, the editor of flagship BBC Science Strand ‘Horizon' about his humble beginnings and how comic books took him to the top, and an award winning explorer and director dubbed ‘The Willy Wonka of Design and Science’ about the International Space Orchestra project featuring NASA.  Some of the stories are heartbreaking; some are hilarious; all are unique.

We also interviewed the storytellers to get a personal touch. While including the right music and graphics to finish it off.
